"The brain is highly structured, but it is also extremely flexible. It's not a blank slate, but it isn't written in stone, either."
Alison Gopnik
ABOUT ME
I am a registered Clinical Neuropsychologist based at Optima Rustenvrede Hospital in Stellenbosch. I specialise in diagnostic neuropsychology of neurodevelopmental, psychiatric and other medical disorders affecting cognition and behaviour. Having completed my training at different institutions and sectors, I had the privilege and opportunity to draw from complex and diverse environments. I am grateful to be part of such a dynamic and rewarding field and strongly believe in empathically collaborating with clients in every part of the treatment process.
EXPERIENCE
I obtained my Master's Degree in Neuropsychology cum laude at the University of Cape Town, after which I completed my internship at Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. I then entered private practice as well as worked at a school for learners with Autism for approximately three years. Concurrently, I was a lecturer in Neuropsychology at Pearson Institute of Higher Education. I have a special interest and training in Neurodiversity. I now form part of a multidisciplinary team where I use my experience to work with individuals of all ages, from diverse backgrounds, with a variety of neuropsychological impairments and/or neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., ADHD, Autism, etc.)
